Clothing for the modern Chap or Chapette, inspired by the 1930s and 1940s, after original patterns, using real materials such as wool and linen. By looking to the past, I want to make the future of our clothes more beautiful, enjoyable and sustainable.

Vintage inspired clothing

As a counterpoint to fashion, this is clothing with its feet rooted in the past. Following old patterns, techniques and materials, adapted to the present whenever possible. For the urban dandy, the well-dressed person in the urban jungle, who wants to make his way with good manners and tweed.

Trained as a theatre designer in Tilburg, I worked for years as a visual artist and made free work. Until I came into contact through music, with lindy hop and thus got in touch with the vintage world. A very large global community with all sorts of common ground and interests. In this modern world, many people need a piece of tranquillity. People need the familiarity of the past and a hankering for nostalgia but with all the modern values. One does not want to live as in the past, but take the good things with them. A well-made suit, made of good materials lasted a lifetime. Let's take that piece of history into the future. A future in which a garment is cherished, gains more value over the years, is given a soul by the wearer, perhaps changes with it, but in any case remains.
