1. Graphic posters at Stay Sane Stay Safe
Studio Lennarts & De Bruijn en Overdeschreef started this initiative to support all of our medical staff and caregivers while we safely stay inside. On their website 'Stay Sane Stay Safe' you will find graphic posters made by designers from all over the world. Print these posters and put them up in front of your window or share them on social media. You can also send in a poster yourself.
2. The United Nations needs your designs!
The United Nations (UN) needs your help in translating critical public health messages, into work that will engage and inform people across different cultures, languages, communities and platforms. To be effective we need people everywhere to adopt public health precautions, act in solidarity, and prevent the spread of misinformation. Your work can contribute to this! Click here for more info. 3. In Quarantine with Marres
The Maastricht House for Contemporary Culture Marres has put together a digital quarantine package. In this package you will find all kinds of activities you can do in your living room or by yourself outside. They also collect fun initiatives from fellow institutions and artists. The big advantage? It is completely Corona-proof!
4. Free online courses from Ivy league schools like Harvard and Princeton
If you want to use this time to educate yourself, this overview is great! This link will show you around 450 courses that you can currently follow for free from schools such as Princeton, Harvard, and Brown. From design to management, plenty of choice.
5. Launch a fund raising campaign via voordekunst
Organise a virtual workshop or sell your design samples. Voordekunst has organised an initiative for the makers and institutions that have suffered financially from the effects of the coronacirus. They can now start their own action campaign via voordekunst. You can find more info on their website.
6. Global Hackathon #Hackthecrisis
The coronavirus has turned the world upside down, with humanity facing major health, economic and societal challenges. Trying to find ways to tackle these challenges, a global movement of hackathons was born called #hackthecrisis. From Latvia to Germany: tens of thousands of people joined forces online and have already created some amazing solutions, making a real impact in people’s lives.
7. Oh You Pretty Things: free design and art films
Filmmaker Gary Hustwit is streaming his design and art documentaries free worldwide during the global COVID-19 crisis. Each Tuesday you can find another film on their website. For the films and the full schedule, click here.
