Dutch Design Week is the perfect opportunity for both young and old to connect with designers in an accessible way and experience how they are working with optimism towards a positive future. Discover all the exciting activities available for the future makers during Dutch Design Week.

Create Your Own Activist Patch

The workshop for children (up to 12 years old): "Your Superpower for the Earth: Make Your Own Activist Patch" is organised by Studio Meike Nieuwenhuis. In this workshop, kids will learn about activism in a fun and playful way. They can unleash their creativity to design their own unique patch, showing how they can help the planet!

GreenKart Creators

A vehicle doesn’t just move by itself, right? It needs a power source, and that energy must be converted into motion. One of the available power sources is electricity. The challenge: build and design a miniature kart powered by electricity.

Redesign.life wants all young people in the Netherlands to discover their talents in technology and ICT.

Buitengewoon Bijzondere Burcht

Saw battlements, screw on roof panels, and connect houses with suspension bridges! Will you join us in creating scale models during DDW?

Using various techniques, you’ll discover how to create different 3D shapes from flat surfaces. We’ll use cardboard strips to make houses, walls, towers, bridges, and more! By connecting, stacking, and placing the designs into a landscape, we’ll build an Extraordinary Castle together.

Stamp Your Clothes with Manifestations

During DDW, Manifestations is the inspiring hub for art, design, innovation, and technology. And it’s not just for tech experts – everyone is welcome, young and old, to explore the future. Of course, everyone is invited to come and print! Bring your own T-shirt, skirt, jacket, or socks.

Manifestations also organises special tours for schools on Thursday 17 October and Friday 18 October!

Edible Wishes

Write your sustainable wish on edible paper and be part of the unique, biodegradable Candy Converter 2024/2025 tear-off calendar!

Candy Converters invites all DDW visitors to jot down their sustainable wish on edible paper! Together, we’ll create a unique annual calendar, written with edible ink. These biodegradable calendars are made and distributed at the Kazerne. Every bite of 2024 takes us closer to a more sustainable 2025.

Krijt-je-Rijk

Reuringdienst is bringing a sense of wonder back to the streets with Chalk Your Riches. A piece of chalk so big it’ll make every child’s heart race – but it also needs a few kids and adults to get it moving. Come and draw with the world’s largest piece of pavement chalk!
