Being Creative is the Easy Part

Saving The World By Doing Nothing

Sometimes, the best action is inaction.

Connect the Dots — © Donald Roos

Today, humanity is dealing with so many big issues, from climate change to inequality to loss of biodiversity. It is overwhelming.
As creative people, we create, so we use resources. Are we part of the problem? But our work also pays the bills. What is our responsibility? Can we change the system?

Connect the Dots

How do we, as creative people, help create the world we want? Taking economics as a surprising stepping stone, you can connect the dots between essential developments in science, history, sociology, technology, design and culture.

During the event, we will explain and work with the ToDo’tList method, how to use it for time management, to get more focus as creative entrepreneurs, and, as an extra incidental, to save the world.

The ToDon’tList Method

The ToDon’tList-method method helps with decision-making. Everything is connected. If you decide not to do something, it influences the string of events. It works like this: we’re always coming up with new ideas, and there are always things we want and need to do. But trying to do all of these things leads to an ever-growing to-do list. Instead of trying to do as much as possible all at once, you could choose to delete a bunch of to-dos and instead focus on what matters. Set boundaries, make choices, do less, but do it better.

In the end, by making decisions to do or not to do something, we affect the world positively and/or negatively.

About the ToDon’tCompany

The ToDontCompany creates Productivity Tools for Creative People, like Books, Apps, Games, and Workshops.
Based on an elegantly simple philosophy: The ToDon’tList. By making choices and leaving things out, you can improve your life, work, projects, and even the world. The best action is inaction.

Together with BIS Publishers, Donald Roos and co-writer Anne de Bruijn published Don’t Read This Book and Don’t Buy This Book. Their latest book is If You Don’t — Economics for Creative People / Saving the World by Doing Nothing.
