"50000 clock projects" is a series of crafts and experiments proceeded under the concept of the intangible element called ‘time’. To escape the tolerance of reading time by scales and numbers, we redefine the meaning of time and timepieces.
50000 clock projects
One of our main timepiece projects is “50000 clock projects, " a project that has come up with the joke “Let’s make 50,000 pieces of clocks!“. Each of the pieces is one-in-a-million and handcrafted by daily experiments based on form & material study.
We design new interactions between users and the timepieces. Considering the movement of every single part with its' sophisticated measures, putting on various textures on them, and harmonizing every single part together is the process of "50000 clock projects."
Materials for “50000 clock projects” varies from each design, and recycled filament, Jesmonite, recycled paper, and various post-processing art materials are mainly used in these days of work. Looking after new textures and materials for our work is one of the important processes, therefore we expect to develop original materials which are compostable within a few years.
