My designs are characterised by a different view of what we are used to. Like this clock where the middle is 'missing'. I also look for unusual materials to use in my designs such as metal powder or leather made from apple, pineapple or cactus.

The design

The design of the clock started with the idea to give the traditional analog clock a different look. I challenged myself by removing the central axis that is in almost every analog clock and I started from there.

The clockwork

Due to the absence of the center of the clock from which the hands normally move, it was necessary to develop a new clockwork. The clockwork was developed by Sixty-twelve clocks and is also produced in my studio in Plan-B Eindhoven.

The production process

The clock is handmade in my studio in Eindhoven. Some parts are 3D printed in my studio. Elsewhere in the Netherlands, metal and wooden parts are first lasercut to size and then finished by hand by me. By using laser cutting, the size of the clock can easily be adapted to the customer's interior.
