Bobbine Berden is a visual narrative designer interested in the emotional value of clothing. When do garments become valuable and what does a piece of clothing say about their owner? Experience the colourful celebration of old garments, but with a new look.

The crossover Real Fake X Strolling in Grandmother’s Clothing

Real Fake is a playful plant label created by Bobbine Berden. Old clothing and outdated home textiles are transformed into colourful leaves by Bobbine and incorporated into plastic plant frames. It is an ironic look at the plastic design of artificial plants that mimic natural processes. Besides the ironic character, all plants are handmade.

Strolling in Grandmother’s Clothing is a collaboration between visual narrative designer Bobbine Berden and journalist Evi Guldemeester. Through Strolling in Grandmother’s Clothing, they focus our attention on the need for a circular economy, and the lives of older people. There is a great urgency to present old clothing in a new light. Clothing sold for rock bottom prices should be a thing of the past. Only then will we be able to reduce our ecological footprint. Strolling in Grandmother’s Clothing symbolises our existing wealth and makes use of old garments. All designs are inspired by the stories of the elderly, or from the memories of their relatives.

The crossover Real Fake X Strolling in Grandmother’s Clothing presents fragments of colourful garments crisscrossed in a meadow of life stories.
