(Archive) Coral Polyps

This project was part of DDW 2022

Once a year around the full moon, corals simultaneously release their reproductive cells to pollinate each other in one big event.

''It's Alive!''

In my process cross-pollination is important, different seeds of inspiration from many different directions will fuse into a single creation. In this project biophilia and a search for creating mechanical movement resulted in a ‘’living’’ jewelry piece that captures the character of living organisms like corals and plants.

These polyps will ask for attention by strolling over the body of their wearer, they are independent and carry out their own behavior. Ultimately, these pieces will become pollinators themselves.
