(Archive) IN DE VOLLE GROND - Aanvullend programma

Eindhoven grows and reaches for the sky. This also affects the ground beneath our feet. How can we lay secure foundations for a blossoming future?

The municipality of Eindhoven is organizing an in-depth program alongside the exhibition IN DE VOLLE GROND. Together with the 'Building Stones Subsurface' project, various experts and stakeholders are invited to brainstorm together about innovative designs for the ground beneath our feet.

Space under the ground

Eindhoven is bursting with plans for the future and at the same time has to deal with all kinds of urgent issues. The energy transition and climate adaptation, but also drinking water supply and sustainable mobility claim space in an (over) congested soil. The underground bustle is one of the main challenges for the city.

Fertile foundation

How do we create fertile soil for a growing and thriving city? During Dutch Design Week, experts and stakeholders will tackle these questions. Professionals from the electricity and gas supply, architects and archaeologists, urban planners and policymakers will look for new perspectives on a fertile foundation. Together they explore new ways of collaborating and taking shared responsibility.

Research driven

The workshops will be developed and led by the professionals of morgenmakers. In this program, they stimulate an investigative approach to the underlying issues. The serious game 'The Underworld' will also be presented in Microlab. This game lets you experience first-hand how difficult it is to coordinate the world above and below the ground.
