TU/e’s Drivers of Change exhibition on Dutch Design Week 2023 showcased the RescueRATs project, a collaboration between the Eindhoven university and the Tanzanian organisation APOPO. This year, RescueRATs steel the show on the posters for Dutch Design Week 2024. Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) will also feature at Ketelhuisplein this edition with a new generation of Drivers of Change.
RescueRATs: little smart backpacks for big smart rats
Students from TU/e collaborated with APOPO to design an intelligent backpack containing a camera and a walkie-talkie, which African giant pouch rats can wear. These animals are trained to locate people trapped under rubble in the crucial hours following an earthquake, collapsed mine, or other disaster.
TU/e Drivers of Change on DDW24
The Ketelhuisplein is again the stage for several inspiring designs from Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e). Smart use of data, new materials with unsuspected applications, and interaction are the ingredients in this exhibition, and the potential of the semiconductor also has a prominent place in the Drivers of Change expo.
