Facet Sidetables

Designed with sustainability in mind

The Facet Sidetables were born from the need to save beautiful marble from pulverisation. Judith van Lamoen uses industry waste in combination with durable and recyclable aluminium to produce unique and eye catching side tables.

Natural stone table tops

Designer Judith van Lamoen found out that a lot of bigger scrap pieces of marble and other natural stone from the production of all sorts of stone slabs including interior features, end up in a container where they are ready to be pulverized and used for asphalt. It is a huge waste to discard these beautiful and natural materials that took thousands of years to form within minutes.
Natural stone countertops in kitchens are an often opted-for option when buying a new kitchen. They are durable and are often easy in maintenance. The cut-outs that must be made for the sinks and hobs have a good size for side tables without having to cut, this is where the designing started.

Aluminium foot

While looking for durable and well recyclable materials for the table foot, Judith fell for anodized aluminium. Both its wide colourful options and its property not to lose quality in the recycling process when reusing the material, made it the perfect match. On top of this, anodized aluminium does not need pre-treatment of removing the colour before recycling to keep its original qualities. This in comparison to aluminium that has been powder coated and thus has a larger impact on the environment during recycling.
A match was found, and the beautiful and unique results can now be enjoyed. The foot has five different colour options and comes in two sizes. This allows the customer to find the perfect match for the stone slate that is available with a foot of their choice. Because the tops are made of waste pieces, the supply is always varying. Both the tabletop and the table foot are made in The Netherlands by skilled craftsmen.

Two sizes available

The Medium: The medium is the highest model available at this moment, but because of its slim design a perfect addition to offer some extra tablespace on the side of your couch or lounge chair. Also perfect as a display table for your favourite vase in the corner of a room.
The Large: The large is a low but wide model, making it a great coffee table for your living room. Match it with your interior or choose a colour that stands out from other furniture, making a bold statement in your home. There is enough space on this size for snacks and drinks on movie nights.
